Organizations in a number of countries are confronting issues related to revenue derived from extractive industries (oil, gas, mining). These industries typically generate not only human rights problems, but also issues of proper expenditures of and accounting for the enhanced government revenue that come with the extractive industries.

  • A key international organization working in this area is Revenue Watch.  While their work is not rights-based, their experience and resources can be very useful for groups concerned about the human rights implications of extractive industries-generated revenue.
