November 2009 Queens University Belfast conference: Budget Decisions and Economic and Social Rights PDF Print E-mail

On 14-15 November 2009 Queens University Belfast sponsored an international conference on “Budget Decisions and Economic and Social Rights.”  The conference brought together people monitoring state compliance with economic and social rights obligations, with a particular focus on budget work.

 


The two-day meeting included as presenters UN experts, internationally renowned scholars and civil society practitioners.  Drawing on the expertise of the participants who had backgrounds in law, human rights, economics and development, the meeting enabled practitioners and academics to share insights and experiences in order to expand and strengthen research and advocacy related to budget decisions and economic and social rights.  For further information, contact Aoife Nolan at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
