Idasa, in its budget briefs, looks at social security in its analyses of both national and provincial budgets.  Of particular interest is a paper, “Towards Comprehensive Social Security for South Africa”, done in 2008 which addresses rights standards with which South Africa must comply as it develops its social security plans and budgets.  

The Instituto de Estudos Socioeconômicos (Inesc) analyzes various social security programs in Brazil, which include a basic social protection program, a family grant program as well as programs to combat child labor and sexual violence, from a rights perspective, with particular emphasis on discrimination.
